A group of former Michigan basketball players recently competed in the NBA Summer League and here’s how they fared.
The 2022 NBA Las Vegas Summer League is now officially on the books, as all 32 NBA teams participated, and it was a lot of fun action over the course of 11 days.
Many of Michigan’s former basketball players took to the courts during the NBA Summer League and were able to show off their skills on national television.
Some Wolverines have played more than others, and there have certainly been ups and downs, but for the most part all former Wolverines who have played in the summer league have done quite well, and here is a look at the performances of every former Michigan basketball player.
Eli Brooks – Indiana Pacers
For some strange reason, Eli Brooks never appeared in a single game for the Indiana Pacers. I don’t know if it was because Eli was injured, or if the coaching staff just couldn’t find minutes for him, but Eli was the one I was really looking forward to seeing play in the summer league, and unfortunately this did not happen. .
It’s a shame because I could have seen scenarios where Eli made a bunch of threes in the Summer League, impressed the staff enough and earned his way onto the roster as an off the bench role player for Indiana (a la Duncan Robinson) but that will just have to potentially come to training camp or Eli will have to move up the G-League ranks.
