Cal Maritime women’s basketball player Alicia Porter received All-California Pacific Conference first-team recognition when conference officials announced their season-ending honor roll on Friday.

Norton, Fields represent Cal Maritime

Junior guard Eric Norton and second-year forward Amil Fields represented Cal Maritime when the California Pacific Conference announced its list of year-end men’s basketball award winners.

When it was announced, Norton earned a hat-trick of honors – named Defender of the Year, he also earned a spot on the All-Defense Team and the league’s First Team – Fields receiving recognition of the second team.

A native of East Palo Alto, Norton is the Keelhaulers’ first defenseman of the year since the 2015-16 campaign, when the conference selected Roman Delgado for the award.

Individually, Norton averaged 12.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and led all Cal Pac players throughout the conference with 26 steals.

Fields, the Keelhaulers’ three-point sniper, was responsible for almost a third (50 of 155) of his team’s baskets from range. As the season progressed, he played a bigger role in his team’s success as his best games of the year came against Cal Pac teams.
