Four new community basketball courts are coming to Malton — Modern Mississauga Media

The redevelopment of Paul Coffey Park was part of the City’s 2019 Parks and Forests Master Plan, which focused on park growth, connection and development.

“The new courts are just the tip of the iceberg for Paul Coffey Park – there are many more to come,” said Jodi Robillos, Acting Commissioner, Community Services. “New tennis courts, the reconstruction of a pétanque court, an off-leash dog zone and improvements to the cricket pitch are also planned.”

The development of the park was an opportunity for the Superfan Nav Bhatia Foundation to further its goal of uniting “people of all ages and walks of life through basketball.” These grounds will also host the first of many Superfan Nav Bhatia Celebrity Basketball Camps, with the first camp taking place in the summer of 2022. Located in Ward 5, Malton’s Paul Coffey Park is a multi-purpose destination park. The park covers 112.4 acres, which leaves plenty of space for many activities. The Future Directions Parks and Forestry Master Plan is responsible for implementing park renovations, including the Paul Coffey Arena and the new Malton Adventure Playground.
