GUERNSEY – last week the Guernsey-Sunrise basketball teams bid farewell to five seniors. Athletes were honored between men’s and women’s varsity games last week. The night was dubbed “senior night” and family and friends gathered to say goodbye.

Afton Kelley was escorted by her parents Shannon and Mindy Kelley and her brother, aunt and uncle. Afton has been involved with basketball, volleyball, FBLA, SkillsUSA, and Student Council. She also painted murals throughout the school and won several awards at the Wyoming Art Symposium.

Caleb Hase is the son of Kenney and Scottina Haase and was escorted to court for the last time in his career. Caleb has been a college basketball player, student council member, FBLA, SkillsUSA, and cross country. He is also a passionate and talented photographer.

Libby Logan was escorted by her mother, Rebecca Simpson. Libby has accomplished quite a bit in her life, including being a state champion in numerous 4-H directors and winning statewide hunt challenges, as well as being a champion riding in rodeos and winning visual arts parts at talent shows.

Rawland Isabelle is the son of Desiree Delgado and Joshua McHenry. He was accompanied by his grandparents Darrell and Dawndrea Daly. Rolo, as he is affectionately known, was selected to the Wyoming/Nebraska 6-a-side shooting team this summer. He received the Brandon Burtsworth Football Award and participated in basketball for four years, making the 2020-21 state basketball team.

Stoney Dimas was escorted by her mother, Christina Newbern. Stoney was an honor roll student while competing in volleyball and basketball. After high school, Stoney plans to go to school to become an ultrasound technician.
